E-zine - Sharod Sombhar
There are numerous Bengali magazines published during Durga Puja. In Bengali, they are called Pujasankhya or Pujabarshiki. They come with stories, novels, poems, articles and what not. How can a Bengali spend a Durga Puja vacation without Anandamela, Shuktara, Desh, Anandalok and so many other? Along these lines, this year in our first meeting for Durga Puja, we decided we would publish a magazine, our own version of Pujabarshiki.

Dear Readers,
We are embarking on the second year of our Durgapujo. 2009 saw the establishment of 'Bengali Students Association' during the Durgapujo celebration at Virginia Tech. There were around 25 members in our organization during the first year. The pujo was organized in the Cranwell International Center. We are grateful to our patrons and friends for making last year's program a great success. To continue the tradition, we are celebrating this year's Durga Pujo in the Old Dominion Ballroom in Squires Student Center.
We are pleased to introduce the first edition of literary magazine from 'Bengali Students Association' Sharodsombhar-2010. I want to take this opportunity to thank all who have contributed towards making this magazine a success by providing their literary or artistic works. We believe you would appreciate our effort to capture the joyous moments of the pujo proceedings and cultural events. We request you to send your feedbacks about the same to [email protected]. Your suggestions will enable us shaping this effort a more fulfilling one!
Best Wishes
Mainak Banga
